Get a Library Card
For Squamish residents
Valid photo ID and/or proof of residency in Squamish is required.
Sign up online
After you have submitted the online form, Library staff will get in touch as soon as possible to provide you with your library card and account details.
In-person: Visit us at the information desk during Library opening hours and we’d be happy to help you sign up!
Over the phone: Call us at 604-892-3110 during Library opening hours.
To pick up your library card and gain full access to our physical resources, please visit us in-person with:
- a) A government-issued photo ID with your Squamish address on it; or
- b) A government-issued photo ID plus proof of your Squamish residence (utility or service bill, rental agreement, piece of mail, etc.)
If you do not have proof of residence for Squamish, please speak to us in-person.
For people living outside of Squamish
Even if you don’t live in Squamish, you can still borrow items from the Library.
If you already have a library card from another library system in British Columbia, you can also use it here! We can link your card to our system. Please visit us in-person for more information and assistance.
Otherwise, you can choose between two options:
Best for visitors who only need to borrow limited items.
- One item can be checked out at a time
- Library of Things items cannot be borrowed
- Valid for one year
Best for people who live in a nearby community (e.g. Lions Bay) or visit often, who want to be able to borrow multiple items.
- Allows for full borrowing privileges
- Requires annual payment ($30 individual, $60 for families)
