Squamish Visitor Information

Welcome to Squamish! Located on the traditional territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), we’re a fast-growing town.

Whether you’re a short-term visitor or a new resident, we look forward to welcoming you here! We are one of the town’s main community hubs, where everyone is welcome. Visitors to Squamish are welcome to make use of our building and many of our services.

At the Library, you can:

A man standing outside a library window holds up his library card, while a woman staff member inside the building reaches through the window to hand him a stack of books.

Getting to the Library

Our address is 37907 Second Avenue, Squamish (at the intersection of Main Street and Second Avenue). Open in Google Maps or download a PDF of downtown Squamish.

There is a parking lot behind the Library and limited free street parking. There is also a bus stop right outside our building that is served by all bus routes in Squamish. View full bus schedules on BC Transit’s website

Get started

Even if you don’t have a library card, you can still visit the Library, participate in our events, and book a pod or workspace.

If you want to start borrowing, you have a couple of options:

  1. If you have a library card from another library in BC, you can use it to check out materials here! Please visit us in-person for more info. You can also return items from other libraries in the province to us.
  2. Otherwise, you can sign up for a library card, even if you’re just visiting town. For more info, see Get a Library Card or visit us in-person—we’d be happy to help.

Only at SPL

We take pride in adapting to what people living in Squamish need most.

From pasta makers to projectors, our popular Library of Things collection has dozens of useful items to help you save money and reduce waste. We’re also proud to reflect the abundant creativity in our community through art installations and a locally-focused zine collection.
