SPL for Kids

The Library is a welcoming space for kids to foster creativity and develop literacy skills. We also host weekly free programs for children of all ages and their caregivers. Although we’re known for our books, we also have a growing collection of educational kits, board games, and video games to inspire learning in many forms. See what we have in store!

A father holds his baby on his lap and a board book in his hand and both are engaged in a storytime singalong. They are in a group of other babies and caregivers all singing and sitting on a colourful rug.

Family-friendly spaces at the Library

Children and their families have their own special area inside the Library. With colourful kid-sized furniture and books placed within easy reach, this area is designed to be a welcoming, comfortable space.

We also have a craft table open to kids of all ages and their families. Look out for new crafts every month! It is a self-guided area with no staff supervision or instruction.
