Squamish Library Director

Hilary has been with the Squamish Public Library since 2002, first as a circulation desk staff member and later as children’s librarian and deputy director. After several years of auxiliary work for the library, she became the Director of Library Services in January of 2014. Hilary was a tutor for the provincial Ministry of Education Community Librarian Training Program courses in children’s and youth services for six years, and has worked as an auxiliary librarian at Quest University Canada. She received a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of British Columbia in 2005. Hilary’s most prestigious job title is that of “Mom” to her two daughters.
Squamish Library Board

The Squamish Public Library Board determines and adopts policies governing the services and operation of the library. The Library Board meets on the third Wednesday evening of each month except July, August and December. Nine volunteer trustees, appointed by the District of Squamish Council, make up the Library Board. Eight trustees are members of the general public who are appointed for two-year terms and one District of Squamish Councillor is appointed annually as Council Representative.

The Friends of the Library are a fun-loving group who meet monthly for fellowship and planning for the advancement of our Squamish Public Library and to assist our Board and Staff.
