Borrowing
As of 2020, we are proud to be a fine-free Library! Learn more about borrowing at the Library.
Our loan periods are:
- 21 days for books, audiobooks, magazines, Library of Things items, DVDs, board games, video games.
- 28 days for radon detector.
- 7 days for Cultural Passes (Britannia Mine Museum and Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre).
Yes! If you already have a library card from elsewhere in BC, you can also use it here! We can link your card to our system. Please visit us in-person for more information and assistance.
Otherwise, you can sign up for a temporary library card that grants select borrowing privileges. Learn more and sign up.
Accessing the Library
Parking: There are designated accessible stalls in the parking lot behind the Library, on the north side of the Library, and across the street.
Building: The main entrance on Second Avenue has a ramp with handrails, sheltered entryway, and power operated front doors. Inside, the Library’s aisles are wide and have lots of mobility space. There is also a height-adjustable computer kiosk for browsing the catalogue inside. Learn more about accessibility at the Library.
Yes, everyone is welcome to visit the Library. We have a variety of spaces to hang out, recharge your device, and stay dry. Learn more about our reading and relaxing spaces and workspaces at the Library.
Bookings
We have 3 bookable pods (and one mini office) available for free. The spaces are ideal for individuals or small groups to work, study or hold small meetings.
- No library card is required.
- You must be age 14+ to reserve.
- You can book a pod once per day (up to 2 hours), 24 hours in advance.
